In 2022, some of us headed back to the office and our coworkers’ faces, while the rest of us made working from home more of a permanent arrangement. Privacy pods gained an even larger piece of the market, while comfort became even more key in the form of sofas and ergonomic desk chairs. Modern office products released this year have really tapped into what people are looking for – here are the top 10 most popular posts from our At The Office column.

Arper shared three new products from designers Doshi-Levien, Altherr Dèsile Park, and James Irvine. The SHAAL Sofa adds to the brand’s sofa offerings with a flexible, modular configuration, while the Ghia Low Table System is diverse in form and finish, ideal for creating endless combinations and opportunities. Yinka Ilori tapped Sam Jacob, principle of Sam Jacob Studio and former director of FAT Architects, to design a space that would continue the theme of community and togetherness that’s been missing during the pandemic. It features three distinctive zones for workstations – an office, exhibition, and archive space – as well as a communal table and kitchen.

Prague-based poetry start-up Poetizer, the largest social media network for poets and poetry lovers, asked architect Tomás Císar
 and interior designer Johana Sedláčková Vamberská to redesign their office. It taps directly into environmental protection through an open-air greenhouse that’s spot-on the biophilia trend.

The HUG Pod collection, a human-centric concept designed by Dymitr Malcew, blurs the line between cozy residential interiors and performance-oriented workplace environments. Modular in design, the pods allow for maximum flexibility in a post-pandemic world that’s apt to change at a moment’s notice.

Studio Stockholm designed a new headquarters for Swedish gaming developer, King, that’s centrally located and aligned with the company’s ethos of fun and light-hearted. The resulting design epitomizes the brand’s motto – “Seriously Playful.”

Zwift is an app promoting fitness through video gaming where users run and cycle through virtual 3D fantasy environments and real-world destinations. IA Interior Architects’ Orange County and Los Angeles studios hopped in to give their headquarters a redesign – it was only fitting that it be informed by the company’s motto: “Fun Powers Performance.”

The Comma office system allows users to transform their environment easily and instantly. The modular system is inspired by the adaptability of scaffolding, and consists of tubular steel with only six elements that allow for endless configurations to feed office needs and functions.

Spanning over 1 million square feet, the building is the largest structure on Nike’s Portland campus. Skylab captured the spirit of the G.O.A.T. of tennis and combined it with the brand’s heritage to create a design-led workspace for 2,750 employees.

The arrival of the Verve Chair by direct-to-consumer brand Branch is a welcome option for anyone looking for a top-tier office chair model without the exorbitant pricing that usually accompanies them. With a great profile and trio of colors, Verve is a legitimate task chair that doesn’t take itself too seriously.

The expanded space includes a production floor, glaze department, eight kilns, a photography studio, and an inventory and fulfillment warehouse. There’s also a private office for Ziperstein, a kitchen, break room for staff and visitors, a sales office, and client meeting space – all brought to life by FOSS HILDRETH.
